The Senator Buruji Kashamu-led Omoilu Foundation on Saturday presented operational vehicle to its coordinator in Ogun state, Otunba (Comrade) Niyi Osoba in fulfilment of the lawmaker’s promise to top officials of the Foundation few weeks ago.
On receiving the keys to the Nissan Primera car from the administrative secretary of the Foundation, Mr. Suraju Adeleye, who presented the car on behalf of the lawmaker, Comrade Osoba lauded the lawmaker for the gesture and promised that the management of the Foundation will not relent in their statutory responsibilities of ensuring that they fish out the needy in the society and make recommendations to the management. He excitedly showered encomium on the founder of the Foundation, in the person of Senator Buruji Kashamu for his unparalleled philanthropic gestures.
Speaking further, Osoba expressed commendation and satisfaction on the gamut of assistance and empowerment that Omoilu Foundation has given out since inception in 2009 when the Foundation was founded. He also marvelled on how God’s given resources to a man could be used by the benevolent Founder of the Foundation indiscriminately to the benefits of the underprivileged.
Osoba who was an astute labour leader and former chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, Ogun State chapter, confirmed that he had never seen any philanthropist in Ogun state that surpasses Senator Kashamu. The former labour leader described Senator Kashamu as one of the few that strongly detest fraudulent and sharp practices by public officials but still wonder why those that milked Nigeria dry could still be wicked and shut their ears to the cry of the poor, adding that, a philanthropist like Kashamu, whose wealth was not from government treasury but self made, should be commended.
“Senator Kashamu is a man of his words, he promised to make more operational vehicles available to the management of this Foundation few weeks ago and today I am presented with one. More are still to be presented to the state secretary, the three senatorial coordinators, and Hon.Taiwo Jigan among others.
“I want to assure him that we shall continue to put in our best and make Omoilu Foundation achieve its goals. Our assignment is to go round and fish out those genuinely in need of our assistance and make necessary recommendations to the management for express approval and we shall continue to do it indiscriminately,” he said.
The Foundation had earlier in the year given out 20 Mitsubishi space buses and 40 Motorcycles to its foot soldiers in the 20 local government areas in the state.
